Our nine distinct regions offer the visitor a bounty of sights, scenery and activities from which to choose. Kentucky's geographical diversity encompasses the mountains of the eastern Appalachians, the lakes and rivers in the western part of the state and the rolling hills of the Central Kentucky Bluegrass. We're known for our bourbon and our thoroughbreds, but we're also known for our beautiful state parks where every sunrise and sunset is a new experience; our unique festivals, celebrating everything from bluegrass music to barbecue, and our historic sites, paying tribute to Daniel Boone, George Rogers Clark, Henry Clay, Abraham Lincoln and others who helped forge Kentucky's destiny.
